Fernando Caruncho
Fernando Caruncho is one of Spain’s most renowned landscape artists, though his work and prestige extend beyond all borders.
Fernando hails from A Coruña but he was born in Madrid, where he pursued a degree in Philosophy and Humanities, simultaneously pursuing his studies in Gardening and Landscaping at the Escuela Castillo de Batres. Indeed, Madrid is home to his studio and is the focal point of his work.
In over 30 years as a professional, Fernando Caruncho has carried out some of the most important landscaping projects in our country, such as La Terraza de Laureles (Laurel Terrace) at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Madrid, the University of Deusto, the Palatchi Garden of Menorca and the Valldemossa Gardens of Mallorca, to name a few. He has also authored important landscaping projects all around the world: in Switzerland, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, Marrakesh, Greece, France, Italy…
Much of his work has been compiled in the monograph, Mirrors of Paradise: The Gardens of Fernando Caruncho, escrito por Guy Cooper y Gordon Taylor, edited and published by The Monacelli Press in New York.
