Teresa Sapey

Teresa Sapey is a renowned Italian Architect and Interior Designer, who obtained her degree from the Polytechnic University of Turin. At the age of 28, she moved to Madrid and founded her own studio, where she continues to work daily. She combines her work with her studies in Fine Arts at the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid.

Some of her most emblematic work is located in Madrid, including the carpark of the Puerta de America Hotel, the reform of the Congress Centre (Palacio de Congresos), and the decoration of the façade of the old Estación del Norte train station.

Teresa Sapey has won various prestigious awards, including the United Nations’ Women Together Award and Architectural Digest’s Interior Design Studio of the Year Award. She was also deemed Breakthrough Designer of the Year by Wallpaper and was granted the title of Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana (‘Commendatore’) by the Italian government.

Teresa admits that she seeks to provoke emotions (regardless of what type) through her work. She conceives of architecture as the perfect combination of functionality and emotion.
