Diana Morales Properties, a boutique agency with a global reach

How would you describe your company in a Tweet?
A boutique real estate firm in Marbella with an international presence through our exclusive affiliation with prestigious real estate networks.

Give us a little more detail about your main business activity and the sector you work in.
Diana Morales Properties manages the sales and rentals of properties throughout the Costa del Sol, but mainly in the area of Marbella, Benahavis and Estepona. With over 25 years’ experience, we are one of the most established real estate firms in the area. While we cover a wide spectrum of properties, we specialise in high-end real estate – this includes villas, apartments and a few estates in the interior.

The bonds we have established with various companies and real estate networks in Europe, America and Asia have bestowed our small Marbella boutique agency with the coverage and efficiency of a much larger organisation. As exclusive agents of Christie’s International Real Estate, EREN (The European Real Estate Network), Luxury Portfolio and The Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, we enjoy an international presence and we are able to offer real estate services not only in Spain, but in many more countries.

What expectations do you have of providing your services in Marbella and its area of influence?
Following various years of recession, property sales and tourism numbers have been increasing gradually. Marbella is undergoing a rebirth and a sense of optimism and faith abounds. We believe that we are at the starting point of a new cycle of growth, which will be accompanied by new architectural designs and technological development. We should learn from the recent past and work towards sensible, sustainable growth. We should also be prepared to satisfy the needs of a new generation of clients and visitors. We are optimistic about Marbella’s future.

What is your opinion of high-end residential tourism?
It is an important part of the economy of the area and it generates wealth and employment. Not only has this sector eased the impact of the crisis (which was much more severe in the rest of Spain); it is also a fundamental pillar of Marbella’s economic recovery, so the correct policies should be established so that it can be cared for and promoted.

What elements should a high-end villa possess?
A high-end villa should be located in a first-class area, should possess a good infrastructure and services; it should be safe and, preferably, be located within a closed community. The villa should combine excellent architectural design and top quality construction with the latest technological advances in insulation, installations, energy efficiency, carpentry, coverings, and should respect the surroundings and the environment. The purchaser of this type of home tends to own one or more high-end villas and is therefore highly demanding.

To which companies would you recommended sponsorship of the international architecture prize?
All companies dealing in the construction, equipment, decoration and sales of this type of homes, public and private institutions which are related to the sector, and companies from the luxury sector which (directly or indirectly) share the same type of client.

What has motivated you to sponsor the architecture prize?
As a member of DOM3, we share this association’s aims of contributing and improving the competitiveness of our companies and of the sector in general, and of converting Marbella into the world leader in high-end tourism. Innovation and an international vision are two of our core values and we believe that this international architecture prize is a clear example of these qualities. Our participation in the prize reflects the commitment of Diana Morales Properties to this project and to the principles of DOM3.
