Toni Nadal: “Demand is the principal virtue for achieving success”
Demand is one of the key values when it comes to achieving success. This forceful reflection is one of the conclusions left by Toni Nadal (Manacor, Mallorca, 1961) during his lecture 'An Excuse Never Won Us a Match', an event organised by the Association of High-Quality Housing Entrepreneurs DOM3, where the coach drew parallels between sports training and business success.
With such revealing statements as “attitude has the power to change things for better or for worse” and “the main thing in life is to put maximum passion into what you do,” Rafa Nadal’s coach addressed the members of DOM3 and the event sponsors in a talk focused on effort, perseverance, and leadership.
For Nadal, it is essential to set a clear goal and understand that improvement is not only necessary but also always possible. “Doing things well almost never guarantees success, but doing things poorly almost always guarantees failure,” he stated emphatically, encouraging the attending business leaders to demand the utmost in their daily activities as a path to achieving constant success.
“Understanding the limits and the difficulty of always being at the top level is necessary for leading a successful life and, above all, for personal satisfaction,” he commented, insisting on the similarity of the effort required in a top-level sports career to the determination needed in business activities.
Toni Nadal, who introduced his nephew Rafa Nadal to the world of tennis and taught him not only the technique but also his sports philosophy centred on perseverance, effort, and humility, is one of the most decorated tennis coaches, with victories including several Grand Slam titles on the world circuit, a medal in Beijing 2008, and four Davis Cups. After a lifetime dedicated to tennis, Nadal now shares the philosophy that inspired one of the world’s greatest tennis players in lectures and talks aimed at motivating towards learning, effort, and talent.
This conference, which highlighted effort as the best path to excellence, was sponsored by AMC projects; Villeroy & Boch; Aalto Exclusive Design; Otiima; Illusion; Charly Simon Photo; and Manuel Burgos architecture and design, whose collaboration was thanked by the president of DOM3, Charly Simon.
The meeting, which took place at the Gran Meliá Don Pepe hotel in Marbella (Málaga), gathered around a hundred people, most of them being DOM3 members, event sponsors, business leaders, and authorities such as María Francisca Caracuel, Councillor for Legal Affairs at Marbella City Council.
An appointment framed within the calendar of activities initiated by DOM3 with the aim of continuing to promote training, business meetings to create synergies, and the professional drive of the members.
