José Seguí

José Seguí Pérez (1946) graduated as an architect from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (1971). He founded and directed "Estudio Seguí" (1985), with offices in Malaga and Madrid, as a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the scales of Architecture and Planning. He won the National Urbanism Award in 1985 as co-director of the General Plan of Malaga and in 1987 for the Special Plan of the Alhambra with his own Studio, also obtaining the international recognition "Europa Nostra" of the Unesco in 1986 for the Rehabilitation of the Cervantes Theatre in Malaga, the "Gubbio" of the Italian National Association of Historic Centres in 1997 for the General Plan of Ronda and the "Spain Luxury Hotel Awards" in 2018 for the rehabilitation of the Gran Hotel Miramar in Malaga. Awarded in several Architecture Competitions (City of Justice, Hotel Miramar, Hotel Torre del Puerto in Malaga; Athletics Pavilion XV Mediterranean Games and Auditorium "Maestro Padilla" in Almeria, Museum of the Capitulations in Santa Fe-Granada, new Municipal headquarters in Puerto Real-Cadiz . ...), and Planning (San Francisco el Grande in Madrid, Río Guadalmedina in Málaga, Special Plans for La Alhambra and Puerto Real, and General Plans for Córdoba, Granada, Antequera, Ronda, Baena, La Línea...). Author of several designs of furniture and domestic objects exhibited in art galleries (Málaga, Madrid, Granada, Cáceres, Escuela San Telmo Málaga...) and in the permanent exhibition of the Museo de la Aduana de Málaga, obtaining the Special Mention in the I Biennial of Design of the International Exhibition of Bilbao (1984). He was Professor at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Granada (1993-2004), and Director of the Business Chair "Landscape and Tourism" at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Málaga (2008-2012), carrying out the "International Landscape Workshop" (2009-2018). As a complementary activity he edited the magazine "Geometría" (1985-2000) and his collection of books "Monografías", having written numerous articles and authored several books dedicated to the urban development of cities, including : "La Alhambra y Los Alijares"(1986), "Ronda y su Centro Histórico"(1988), "Antequera en el Centro del Sur"(1987), "Granada un proyecto de futuro"(1994), "Puerto Real, intervenir para conservar (1997), "Córdoba, cruce de caminos"(1997), La Línea, más allá de la línea"(2021).
